Refund & Cancellation Policy

Draft text, not legal advice

This page is a placeholder written as a starting point. The business owner must review it, replace every highlighted value, and have the final wording checked before taking real payments or sending real customer email.

Policy

1. How billing works

Sently paid plans are monthly subscriptions sold by Sently and charged in advance in Indian Rupees through Razorpay. Each charge covers the month that follows it. The subscription renews automatically on the same day each month until you cancel it.

The free plan costs nothing and needs no cancellation.

2. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard. Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not stop the current month: your plan and its limits stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account then moves to the free plan.

You keep access to your email logs during the notice period, subject to the usual retention period.

3. Refunds

Because a month is charged in advance and the sending capacity is reserved for you, we do not give pro-rata refunds for a partial month. If you cancel in the middle of a billing month you keep the rest of that month rather than getting money back.

We do refund in these cases:

  • a duplicate charge, where the same subscription was billed twice for the same period;
  • a charge taken after a cancellation was confirmed;
  • a charge you were billed in error by us;
  • a prolonged failure of the service that made it unusable for a significant part of the month, judged case by case.

4. How to ask for a refund

Write to [email protected] from the email address on the account. Include the payment identifier or invoice number, the amount, and what went wrong.

  • We acknowledge refund requests within 24 hours.
  • Approved refunds are sent back through Razorpay to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days. How long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer.
  • If we decline a request we will explain why.

5. Duplicate or wrong charges

If you see a charge you do not recognise, contact us before raising a chargeback. Duplicate charges are refunded in full once we confirm them, and we do not ask you to prove anything beyond the payment identifier.

6. Failed payments

When a renewal payment fails:

  1. We email the account owner and show a notice in the dashboard.
  2. Your plan keeps working for a grace period of 7 days while you fix the payment method.
  3. Razorpay retries the payment during that period.
  4. If the payment still has not gone through after 7 days, the account moves to the free plan. Sending continues within the free plan limits, and your data is not deleted just because a payment failed.

You can restore a paid plan at any time from the Billing page.

7. Plan changes

Upgrades take effect immediately and the higher limits apply straight away. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal, so you keep the limits you have paid for until then.

8. Account deletion

Deleting your account cancels the subscription. It does not create a refund for the current month. Email logs and stored content are deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Suspension for abuse

If we suspend an account for breaking the Acceptable Use Policy, fees already paid are not refunded.

10. Contact

Billing questions go to [email protected]. Other policies are available on the Contact page.
